LAUREL PARK TURF NOTES t $ ; Maj. J. P. "Wall and Major Dean, of the U. S. Remount Service, were arrivals from Fort Royal, Virginia, in quest of horses. Major Wall states that horsemen desiring to sell stallions should write him full particulars. Don Yates, of Baltimore, after scratching Light Plume from Wednesdays seventh race, departed for York, Pa., where he has three horses running. Jockey Charlie Eames left for York, Pa., to ride Washout, owned by Bill Shewbridge, of Baltimore. Jack Carter, agent for jockey Bobby Jones, has taken over the book of Jimmy Sullivan, a Washington lad who broke his maiden astride Home Work. Sullivan rides at 100 pounds. He is under contract to Harry Brown, who has developed many of Americas best race riders. Maj. Louis Beard, who looks after the breeding interests of the Whitney family, was an arrival from Red Bank, N. J. J. P. Smith has shipped Morfair back to New York. This crack sprinter failed to run to expectations in the Capital Handicap. Tony Pedon, of Baltimore, is making the riding engagements for L. Knapp, a 102 pounder; R. Martin, who scales 108 pounds, and H. L. Fisher, a 98-pound apprentice. C. C. Smithson, well known Washington turfman, is ill at his home in the nations capitol. Shelby Burch has a big band of yearlings in training at the Old Bennings track near Washington. Steeplechase jockey Eddie Ball, of Baltimore, was an arrival from Canada. He is under contract to John Bosley, Jr., of Baltimore county. John Lambert was an arrival from New York with one of C. V. Whitneys steeplechasers. Al Davis has taken over the book of Harry Dabson, a 100-pound apprentice, who halls from the eastern shore. Johnny Kermath, winner of the last old-time jockeys race, held at Pimlico, was an arrival from New York. Mrs. Martin J. Smith is seeking the whereabouts cf her husband, who was last heard from during the Havre de Grace meeting. Mrs. Smith, in a letter received by racing secretary Jack B. Campbell, at Laurel, professed that her husband is in ill health and is anxior to locate him. Mrs.- Smith is also in care of a doctor at her home, 1219 North West 38th Street, Miami, Fla.
