1 1 LATONIA TURF NOTES $ $ At a meeting here Thursday, the racing commission reduced the minimum claiming price for races run here from ,500 to ,000. Charley O., the full-brother to Mike Hall, had his final preparation for the Breeders Futurity to be run Saturday when he worked three-quarters in 1:15, handily, between th3 third and fourth races Wednesday. The George Collins stable, embracing thirteen head, including Thistle Play, candidate for the Breeders Futurity and Kentucky Jockey Club Stakes, came in this morning from Fairmount Park in charge of Tom Moran. William E. Smith,, vice-chairmari of the Kentucky Racing Commission, and Daniel E. OSullivan, resident manager of Churchill Downs, came up from Louisville for the opening and are remaining until Saturday evening. Trainers E. C. Hensel, J. Coffey, W. B. Pemberton, V. Hammon, C. A. Kenny, J. Parmelee, L. A. Connor, W. H Hosea and W. C. Reichert and jockeys R. Whittaker -and K. McCray, received licenses at a meeting of the License Committee Wednesday. Former jockey Johnny Parmelee was an arrival from Lincoln Fields, wiJi. hi3 own Impish and Jaz Age and M. B. Cohens Jese-mola and Col. Hatfield. Kenneth Russell, who retired from the saddle a year ago, is a visitor. Tommy Sauter; likely apprentice with the J. B. Respess stable, is a local boy and has ridden fourteen winners and his recent work at Fairmount Park was very good.
