MORALIST, close up from the start, responded to urging in the stretch and, wearing down BLACK MINNIE, outlasted WALTER H. in the final strides. The latter, on the outside of the leaders all the way, finished with a rush. BLACK MINNIE outran the others, saved ground and had no mishaps. POLAIRE finished well. BONNIE LAD, shuffled back early, came through on the inside in the stretch. DUNBAR, SWINWOOD, SIR GARETH, ORPHEAN and LONG CHANCE were knocked back near the half-mile post. PAPYROGRAPH, close to the pace all the way, went around to the outside of the leaders entering tb stretch, crossed over sharply and impeded DONIE, then drew away, but was disqualified. WONDERFUL improved his position steadily under pressure and finished fastest of all on the outside. ROD RACK forced thm early pace from the start, saved ground in the stretch and held on well.
