LEADING AMERICAN JOCKEYS G. Elstons drive toward front rank in the race for jockey honors was continued with a vengeance last week. He rode twelve winners, passed J. Gilbert and S. Coucci and advanced into second place, and at the end of the week stood only two winners behind the leader, H. Mills. Elston has ridden nineteen winners in the last two weeks. W. D. Wright was the only other jockey among the leaders who rode more than average success. He piloted nine winners and moved into fifth place behind Coucci. L. Humphries came near the century mark in victories by winning with eleven of his mounts, . and B. Matt, who has ridden a total of seventy-five winners, had seven to his credit for last weeks efforts.
