BUYS POT AU FEU COLT LEXINGTON, Ky., Nov. 3. Dr. John Baird, acting for the Coldstream Stud of C. B. Shaffer, purchased from Adolph Pons, acting for the Mereworth Stud of Walter J. Salmon, the yearling chestnut colt by the Coldstream stallion Pot au Feu from Barefoot, by Fair Play. Dr. Baird is very enthusiastic about this colt, declaring: "He is the best son of Pot au Feu I have seen, even, better than the good yearlings we have thisj year at Coldstream." Dr. Baird announces that the Coldstream Stud Stable has leased its contract jockey, Melvin Lewis, to the Shandon Farm Stable, trained by J. J. Greely, from November 1 to the end of the winter racing season.
