Milton, general manager of the Havana-American Jockey Club, sent word here that about two hundred horses are now at Oriental Park awaiting the opening of the fifty-one day meeting, which starts January 21. Mr. Milton states tbSt he is passing on applications for 500 more horses and that the reservations are being made on -their receipt. He also advises horsemen that although the closing date for the stakes is set for January 1, the closing date for the Cuban Grand National Sweepstakes Handicap, the 0,000 added feature, at one mile and one-quarter, that will be run March 12, isnot until February 1. With this late closing date for the rich fixture horsemen will be able to "thoroughly try their charges before being called upon to make an initial payment. A
