PAUMONOK HANDICAP ENTRIES NEW YORK, N. Y., May 4.— Twenty nominations were received for the Paumonok Handicap, the feature of the opening day at Jamaica on Saturday. The Paumonok is a sprint of six furlongs and carries an added value of ,500. Nominations closed Wednesday at the office of the Metropolitan Jockey Club and weights for the race will be announced Friday, at which time declarations are due. Equipoise, the mighty son of Pennant — Swinging, heads the list of the C. V. Whitney nominations and that chestnut arrived at Belmont Park yesterday morning from Brookdale Farm, Red Bank, where he was shipped following his smashing triumph at Havre de Grace by trainer Tom Healey. The run from the farm was completed without mishap and the horses unloaded in good condition. In addition to Equipoise, the C. V. Whitney stable has named Top Flight, Pooks Hill and Halcyon to the Paumonok and trainer Healey is well fortified for the race. His assistant, who accompanied the horses to Belmont Park from the farm, stated that Equipoise and Top Flight were at their best, but that Mr. Healey would arrive later and that the mare would be included in the final shipment from the farm. *
