j BAINBRIDGE MEETING j ; OPENING ON MAY 20 | AURORA, 111., May 17.— Unfounded rumors have been circulated in regard to the impending Bainbridge meeting not opening on its scheduled date of May 20. Joseph Cattarinich emphatically denied this report. Mr. Cattarinich said Bainbridge will open May 20 for its scheduled meeting, which will embrace twenty-five days and which is due to end June 17, with purses from 00 to ,000. Word received from general manager Thomas McGinty relates that horses are arriving daily and there are about 250 on the grounds now. Those will be augmented by shipments from Aurora, Sportsmans Park, Kentucky, Maryland and other points. Racing secretary Richard A. Leigh will leave for Cleveland Wednesday night to take care of the preliminary details.
