HAMILTON took command after a quarter, drew away in the stretch and won handily. PROUD PRINCESS, quick to start and taken under restraint when unable to withstand the winner on the turn, responded gamely in the stretch, saved ground and disposed of MISS MARY LOU. BLONDELLA lost ground and withstood mild pressure gamely. SHADOWDAWN showed speed, but tired in the drive. PONY UP ciosed a big gap in the stretch. CHAUVENET quit. GLOVE, away fast, dropped out of it and could not get up. FLASHLIKE challenged on the far turn. LORADALE raced very green. PANTHER ROCK, away slowly and on the outside throughout, improved his position in the closing three-eighths and, bearing over before drawing clear, had little left. SIS AGNES, restrained for half a n ilc, went around GREEN WAVE and TRAITOR after reaching the stretch and held on well. LUTIE SCHUSTER, forced back in the stretch, closed strongly. THREAT lost ground on the first turn, took an easy lead entering the back stretch and held on gamely. COPLEY SQUARE, allowed to drop out of it, moved up on the outside leaving the back stretch and continued well thereafter. MOMO failed to respond to urging in the last half. JOHNNY SHAW, beginning slowly and allowed to remain out of it, was slow to respond when punished, but came up fast in the final eighth. LE MINISTRE had no mishaps. DUG IN was always far back.
