| TORONTO TURF NOTES f • ♦ W. Hopley is sending the Canadian-bred plater Ortona to Montreal to take part in the Mount Royal meeting. H. Thompson has taken over Captains Girl to train. F. Sullivan formerly handled this plater. The juvenile Marie R. that J. Burttschell has at Thorncliffe ran through the outside rail when working the other morning. The filly escaped without injury. Jockey Willie Marsh is anxious to get in touch with an owner of steeplechasers. Marsh would like to have the opportunity of riding through the field. Erindale Stable has decided to retire Bad News Bob to the stud. Letty Lind, the dam of Circulet, Haplite as well as other winners, visited the court of the son of North Star III. on Monday. George Foley arrived at Thorncliffe Park Sunday with three head.
