ROMAC, away slowly, gradually worked his way up midway of the stretch and closed strongly. TRANSFORMATION, away well and rated back of the early leaders, failed to respond to mild urging, but held on fairly well. CLEAN PLAY lacked speed. CONVENTIONAL showed early speed and tired badly. CRASH showed early speed. PATANGON and MODERN MAIDEN were crowded back on the first turn. ORANGE PLUME raced wide.
