UNKIE TOM, always close up and restrained for three-eighths, responded gamely to urging and, wearing down PRINCE STAR, won drawing out. The latter was on the outside while racing BUSY JANE into defeat, held on gamely to the final eighth, then tired. HOOSIERS PRIDE, away slowly, closed a gap in the first quarter, tame out in the stretch and withstood a drive gamely. KING FARO raced well. BUSY JAY tired. BICHLORIDE, away well and taken into the lead, easily increased his advantage in the stretch and won easily. WHIRLING saved ground after a quarter and was best of the others. VOLTINA, placed outside at the start and away fast, was under light restraint for half a mile, but failed to rally under urging. AUF WIEDERSEHN fell at the post, was away slowly, but finished gamely. LADYKIN also fell at the post, began slowly and showed good form. HELEN BAB did not threaten. LITTLE CONNELLY was done after half a mile. QUORUM, taken into the lead, saved ground throughout, was well rated in the pacemaking, but tired badly near the end. PRINCE FARTHING, far back for half a mile, came out in the stretch and closed strongly. BROOMSHOT, a factor throughout, tired near the end. The latter, far back for five-eighths, raced wide, but closed gamely and was wearing down the winner. LOCUST MOSS improved her position with a rush. PEACE LADY swerved out entering the stretch. CHIPOLA bore out badly on the second turn and tired in the stretch. LADY GIBSON began slowly and raced wide throughout. PANGLOSS tired under punishment. BUNTING LAD quit.
