EQUIPOISE IN RARE FORM NEW YORK, N. Y., May 27. C. V. Whitneys champion Equipoise is coming up to his engagement in the Metropolitan Handicap magnificently. Saturday morning the son of Pennant and Swinging galloped along for an easy mile in 1:39 and he never looked better in his long and brilliant career. The fractions for the move were :124,, :24, :36, :48, 1;13, 1:26 and 1:39. The Metropolitan is to be run next Saturday and Equipoise is at the top of the handicap with 128 pounds as his impost for the mile gallop.
