LARGE CROWD AT RIVERSIDE KANSAS CITY, Mo, May 27. The largest crowd that ever witnessed a days racing here turned out at Riverside Park to welcome back the thoroughbreds for the opening of the 1933 season. Fully 10,000 devotees of the sport crowded the stands and lawns long before the horses paraded postward for the initial race. An excellent program of eight races was arranged for the opening day, with the fifth race, the Inaugural Handicap, being the feature. This attracted a small but select field to contest the purse over the Futurity Course distance. Ideal racing weather prevailed for the opening and, while the track was a trifle slow for the beginning of the days sport, it dried out rapidly. j
