The colors of C E Davison and the riding of apprentice Paul Keester were outstanding among the highlights of Aurora racing Thursday when Captain Red in accounting for the St Charles Claiming Purse made it a double for the stable and the promising apprentice who had his first winning mount Wednes ¬ day when he piloted Annan to victory De f ier raced to second place and third went to Celtic Prince which was making his first start of the season seasonThe The race was marred considerably when Vin Noir which was second choice in the race was eliminated early by a mishap in which he stumbled and fell throwing jockey R G Cooper violently but the rider escaped with a bruised shoulder and a slight abra ¬ sion to one of his eyes j The start was almost perfect and the alert J Guerra sent Defier into a long lead and he continued well to midway in the stretch when he began to tire and it was no task for Captain Red to speed past him into the lead which he increased in the final stages to finish with a two lengths margin while Defier had no trouble holding Celtic Prince safe for second place placeFavorites Favorites fared badly in the early stages and it was up to the aged Hot Shot stronger contender contenderJODA JODA BY WIDE MARGIN MARGINJoda Joda a strapping daughter of Ormont and Ashton Girl racing for Lloyd Bros and Crook made a runaway of the first race when she outspeeded six others of her age over the four and onehalf furlongs course Running the distance in 54 she won by the decisive margin of six lengths Annie N which finished second furnished the only contention the winner encountered and within striking distance to the final length she tired and dropped back and while over ¬ matched by the winner was easily best of the favored Margies Doll which finished in
