JOCKEY WESTROPE SUSPENDED DALLAS Texas May 3 The following ruling was released by the stewards before the first race Thursday Jockey J West rope is suspended for five days for foul rid ¬ ing against Jessie Carey near the finish in the seventh race and causing his mount Ba bee to be disqualified The extent of West ropes suspension was reduced from that ordinarily assessed for the offense because of the riders frankly admitting that he could have avoided the foul Upon other occasions the stewards have found West rope to be truthful when questioned and this unusual and admirable quality is in the opinion of the stewards deserving of recognition
