DISCOVERY FIRST ENTERED LOUISVILLE Ky May 4 John Bud Stotler who trains Alfred Gwynne Vander bilts Discovery made the first official en ¬ try to the Kentucky Derby At 755 oclock Stotler appeared before entry clerk Larry Bogunschutz He was accompanied by Mr Vanderbilt and after an exchange of greet ¬ ings proceeded to make the entry Visibly nervous Stotler gave Bogunschutz the wrong colors before owner Vanderbilt could correct him The entry of Quasimodo the Leonardo H colt owned by Mrs Bessie Franzheim daughter of Mr and Mrs Ed ¬ ward F Simms owners of Xalapa was the second filed and that of Sgt Byrne the John Simonetti candidate the third last The latter was named by Charles Brown groom in charge of the son of Stimulus trainer James Ritchie and owner Simonetti evi ¬ dently overlooking the closing time of 1030
