AGA RAY SCORES AGAIN Accounts for His Second Purse at Aurora Wins Easily Performers of Better Grade Absent From Fridays Program Favor ¬ ites Fail in Early Races AURORA 111 May 4 Although perform ¬ ers of the better grade were absent from competition and favorites failed to race to expectations in the early races there was much interest in the sport today which was featured by the Fox Gardens Claiming Purse and which engaged threeyearolds of the useful type in a test over three quarters This resulted in a victory for Paul Kelleys Aga Ray his second victory in as many starts at this meeting but on this occasion his conquest was gained in a more decisive manner when he came to the end two and onehalf lengths in ad ¬ vance of Frankje Serembas Forceful which showed an improved performance to race to second place andtthird went to Fire Star which had better luck on this occasion but his margin over High Clover was but a head gained m a driving finish which en ¬ sued for that part of the purse purseThe The delightful weather which has been in order since the opening again prevailed to ¬ day and the track was never better An ¬ other good crowd was out for the sport TOO MUCH SPEED SPEEDFire Fire Star sprinted to the front soon after the start but could not get very far away from Aga Ray which followed him ctysely while being restrained As they straightened for the run to the stand Harbort sent the winner up with a rush and after applying a few lashes of the whip Aga Ray responded readily sped by Fire Star and easily held sway to the end After giving way to the victor Fire Star eventually submitted to the rush of Forceful which closed with be ¬ lated speed to down him for second money The performance of Otterrop was a big dis ¬ appointment when she failed to reach a contending position positionThe The fourth race resulted in a runaway for M J Wellmans Why Not when he made a show of his rivals which competed over the threequarters course Eight lengths be ¬ hind the winner came the Shandon Farms Owen to annex second money while third went to Morvim which finished a length farther back While the winner was giving his opponents a lesson in how to win races a greyhound which joined the pack added to the humiliation of the performers which were racing at top speed trying to make an appreciable gain on the flying leader when he easily outran half of the field from the str etch head to the finish and while he failed to keep up in the final stages he had no difficulty heading Joe Geary which could not improvehis position under punishment punishmentEIXIANA EIXIANA COLORS TO FORE The popular colors of C T Fishers Dixi ana stable were carried to victory in the first race when Pompous Genie scored in im ¬ pressive fashion defeating six others of his age over the four and onehalf furlongs course Though the winner was a trifle frac ¬ tious at the post he began in good order and finding his best stride dashed to the front Benediction offered strong contention for the first half but the task of matching strides with his much stronger rival proved too much and she gave way in the final stages while the winner finished three lengths to the good Jimmy N which fin ¬ ished third held that position throughout the race while the highly regarded Kissin bug was badly outpaced throughout throughoutForm Form players suffered another set back in the second race when Tennywood suddenly improved to win this with speed to spare finishing a length and onehalf in front of Hooligan which came to the end a similar distance in advance of Judge Dixon which finished third thirdThe The winner in command from the start never gave his backers much concern as he sped along well in hand to cross the line with jockey C Hainsworth looking back at the laboring Hooligan which was ridden out trying to overcome his rival
