MEETING AT DAYTON OHIO Nineteen Days of Racing to Begin BeginToday Today With All Indications IndicationsPointing Pointing to Success DAYTON Ohio June 1 Under new man ¬ agement the first summer meeting of the Dayton Jockey Club will open at the Fair Grounds here tomorrow The meeting is scheduled to run for nineteen days Thor ¬ oughbred racing was introduced here only last fall but has met with much favor Due to the fact that the opening day here con ¬ flicts with the closing day of the Beulah Park meeting at Columbus a temporary shortage of horses exists However there are likely to be many arrivals from the Grove City course over the weekend weekendProm Prom present indications the conditions are likely to be favorable for tomorrows opening The weather today is clear and the track is fast fastSome Some changes have been made in the list of racing officials since last fall and the presence of George Palmer as starter irs bound to be a marked improvement Robert Steel chief assistant to Mr Palmer will dis ¬ patch the fields tomorrow and Palmer will take charge on Monday to of ficiate during the remainder of the meeting
