THREE NEW DETROIT BARNS Motor City Officials Constructing More Stables to Take Care of Expected Arrivals DETROIT Mich June 29 The Detroit Racing Association yesterday arranged for the building of three more fiftystall barns to take cars of horsemen who have shipped to other points and who plan to return at the conclusion of those meetings The estab ¬ lished policy of the Detroit Racing Associa ¬ tion has always been never to quarrel with its horsemen It believes that inasmuch as owners of horses are the people who pay the bills they should have the right to ship to any point where purses stakes or en ¬ vironment best suit their horses Wliere these stables have lived up to the ethics of racing established by the Association they are always welcome to return returnWith With the close of Latonia and several other tracks near the stall room at the Fair Grounds has been practically assigned and the new barns will be held exclusively for those who raced at the spring meeting and who contemplate returning after the close of Rocldngham and Arlington ArlingtonOn On next Monday the track will be given over to the American Legion All the offi ¬ cials will work without pay and the horse ¬ men will be asked to race for reduced purses as the entire profit will go to the Legion One Charity Day will be given at each of the three meetings conducted by the Asso ¬ ciation ciationThere There will be seven races offered the chief of which will be the American Legion Purse at one mile and onesixteenth This is a 700 purse the others being worth 500
