RULINGS AT DETROIT DETROIT Mich June 29 After the running of the fourth race the stewards issued the following ruling and statement For persistent rough riding in the face of repeated warnings jockey C Hooper has been suspended for ten days daysR R Mcllvain was asked for an explanation of Al Neimans quick improvement He said that the horse has been laid up for six months and was just coming to his form He said he did not bet on the horse but it had worked well since its last race which prob ¬ ably accounted for the play on him In the last race Woolf was engaged to ride but he could not make the weight arid McCune w s substituted almost ai post time A saliva test has been made of the orse
