| SYRACUSE "OPTIONS" DOE | I FOR A COURT TEST j SYRACUSE, N. Y., July 5.— The possibility of a court fight to determine the legality of the share option system of wagering, loomed here today when word was received that the attorney generals office in Albany was preparing to move against the Onondaga Racing Association, using that form of wagering in conjunction with the races at the State Fair Grounds here. Intimations of resistance to any order against the options was made by officials of the association. "We are informed by the best legal authority," said general manager J. Norman Beck, a Syracusian, that our popular share option wagering is within the full letter and spirit of the law. We are willing to make a court fight if that is necessary." In all quarters of Syracuse today indications were that the share option system was too popular with the public to be superseded without strong opposition. Deputy Attorney General Irving H. Lessing, acting on orders of Attorney General Bennett, after the second race today made an investigation of the workings of the share option department to determine whether the system employed here is legal. He was taken on a tour of inspection of the option plant by the officials of the association.
