UPPITY lacked early speed, was forced to race wide on the turn, but closed with a rush. BROWN TORCH, forced to race in close quarters for a quarter, W2s unable to reach the leaders when clear. SEMESTER, fractious at the post, was placed on the outside, broke well, was rushed to the front at the first turn, established all the pace and outstayed BOSCOBEL at the end. The latter, first to show, was outrun to the turn, was taken to the outside of the pacemaker while forcing the pace and got on even terms straightening out in the stretch, then weakened. BYLONA, always closest to the leaders, was doine her best at the end to stall off CRAP SHOOTER. The latter, well back for the first seven eighths closed with a belated rush.
