HAPPY HELEN dropped back while racing on the outside near the stretch and finished resolutely. LEGUME was unable to reach the leaders. Won easily; second and third the same. PAPER PROFITS moved up soon after the start and, rated behind GRACE BLOTTER to the stretch, had little trouble in taking the lead and drew out steadily. GRACE BLOTTER set a good pace and held on well. CONVENTIONAL improved his position steadily and closed gamely. TWIDGETS, hard urged, tired in the drive. DISTRIBUTE closed a big gap. FRONT saved ground in the stretch. YANCEY tired in the final quarter. DEVONSHIRE was practically left. PAR VALUE moved up fast when called upon in the stretch and, taking command in the closing sixteenth, outlasted HAPPY SCOT. The latter dropped back in the first eighth, moved up on the outside, but bore over in the last seventy yards, impeding WISE COUNT and FANCY FLIGHT, for which he was disqualified. ZIPALONG, outrun early, finished with a rush. LUCK IN finished resolutely. WISE COUNT, much used racing FANCY FLIGHT into defeat, tired when impeded. FANCY FLIGHT was forced to be taken up.
