1 ARLINGTON PARK NOTES | # and Jockey A. "Tex" Anderson had his first mount of the meeting when he drew the assignment on Brilliant Duke in the second race Tuesday. Dr. and Mrs. Robert Black and their daughter were guests Tuesday of Col. E. R. Bradley at the Post and Paddock Club, as were also Miss Catherine Bohne, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Robert Bohne. James G. Condon, lawyer, and John A. Ritchie, president of the Chicago Motor Coach Company, who were seriously injured in a motor accident a fortnight ago while en route to the Post and Paddock Club paid their first visit since that time to the track Tuesday. Mr. Condons fractured shoulders and ribs were in casts and bandages and Mr. Ritchies right arm was in a cast and in a sling. Racing secretary Jack B. Campbell announced that the closed claiming rule would be in effect at the Narragansett meeting. In Tuesdays first race Traggat had blinkers added to his equipment, as had Audley Farms Colonist in the third. Cold Steel, also in the third race, raced without them. Royal Duchess is another that will perform without the blinker equipment. She is slated to race Wednesday. William Owens, custodian of the jockeys room at Arlington Park, will serve in a similar capacity at the impending Narragansett meeting. George Tappen loaded Joviua and Growler and got away for the Spa Monday night. Trainer J. S. Stewart, who is handling the Milky Way Farms Stable, decided to turn out the following two-year-olds: a chestnut colt, Canusee, by American Flag — Theresina j Hold Tire, a bay colt by Campfire — Hold Me, and Highland Rose, a bay filly by Brown Bud— Highland Doll. The trio of juveniles will be sent to the Milky Way Farm at Pulaski, Tenn., until fall, when they will be taken up and returned to training.
