IMPERIAL JACK, a strong factor from the start, saved ground near the stretch, impeded MINT BABY when taking the lead and outlasted PANSY PURPLE. The latter, hustled into the lead at once, gave way to MINT BABY, was carried wide entering the stretch, but was wearing down the winner. HERENDETH, fractious and slow to start and blocked when moving up, was best of the others. MINT BABY took the lead under hard urging, was bothered when tiring and tired in the last stages. GREEN LOTUS was used up reaching contention. WATERFRONT closed a gap. TEMFLETON, fractious in the paddock, unseated his rider at the post and ran away seven-eighths and was not a factor. The latter outsprinted the others from the start, set the pace, but tired in the last stages. BLACK FLASH, outrun for three-quarters, closed fast. SCIMITAR had no mishaps.
