FAKE FINALLY MAKES GOOD • After Several Unsuccessful Attempts Daughter of Morvich Scores. * Accounts for Best Race on Rockingham Parks Tuesday Program — Integrity Scores in Fourth. SALEM, N. H., July 17.— Fake, aptly named daughter of Morvich, racing for Mrs. W. R. Fleming, which had finished second on several previous occasions, had little trouble in scoring her maiden victory in the best race on todays card. The five furlongs of the third afforded tthe opportunity for her graduation. This contest attracted a small field of seven, recruited from the ranks of the better grade plater juveniles performing at Rockingham Park. Little Dinah, in the black and red colors of Sylvester W. Labrot, raced into second place, a scant half length in advance of A. A. Baronis Hardatit, a filly that was making her initial "start at the course. Teeter Totter, a former stablemate of the winner, was fourth. After the field left the stalls in perfect alignment the Labrot miss and Hardatit went out in the van, racing well clear of the others and heads apart. Teeter Totter was tmrd, just a short distance in front of the ultimate winner. Little Dinah was always showing the way to the Baroni filly and Fake, under feathery impost, had Teeter Totter headed when straightening out for the run to the line. Allen had saved considerable ground with Teeter Totter, but the latter appeared to stumble and Allen was forced to take up. The leading pair continued their duel until after passing the furlong post, and Helm had taken the Morvich youngster to the outside. Fake was in front before another sixteenth had been covered. She met with little opposition when moving to the Continued on twenty-second page. Little Dinah continued to head Hardatit, and the others had never really figured seriously in the running. Todays enrod was quite up to the usual week-day average at the beautiful New Hampshire course. Weather conditions could hardly have been improved upon. After racing back in tho pack for the greater part of the five. and a half furlongs that started off the afternoons sport, Ca-bouse came with keen late speed on the outside to account for the race by a comfortable margin over Polyfon and nine other platers. Merry Chatter, after being endowed with the pacemaking burden, was much used in shaking off Cancel and had nothing left to meet the stretch bid of the leading pair. A fighting finish occurred in the running of the second race, a dash of three-quarter miles, when Lamp Black and Flying Don drove to the winning post closely locked and in the order named. Three lengths back of the dueling leaders Dancing Mack was third. Lamp Black was possessed of the most early speed, and for the opening quarter mile enjoyed a slight lead. Liberty Oak, Fly- ing Don and Oral were fighting it out heads apart and pressing the winner closely.
