JAMES ARLINGTON HEIGHTS, 111., July 24.— Clarence Davison today purchased from Mrs. Roy Carruthers her consistent three-year- old Mr. James, winner of his last three starts at the meeting. The son of St. James and Wonderful One has won ten out of his eighteen starts in two seasons of racing and failed to gain a portion of the purse only twice. Trainer C C. Van Meter acted for Mrs. Carruthers in the transaction with Davison, who trains his own horses.
