The latter, hustled into the lead at once, drew away into a good lead, but failed to withstand the winner under hard urging. JULIA GRANT forced the pace and tired n the final cithth, PANSY PURPLE stumbled at the start, but moved up fast after recovering and was in close quarters in the stretch. HERENDETH had a rough race. MINNEQUA, close up from the start and on the inside, took the lead in the final eighth, but failed to hold the winner. COME SEVEN moved up gradually and finished with a rush. MOONSAN outsprinted the others, diew into a good lead, but tired when urged. SIX BELLS closed a gap. GAY JOE, lamed on the way to the post, was outrun, but came back soundly. DIVERT was not a factor.
