HOWARD, much the best, raced restrained for five eighths, then moved up fast and, disposing of COLD STEEL, won cantering. The latter raced clear at once, set a good uace for half a mile, but gave way to the winner when challenged and was easily best of the others. QUASIMODO dwelt at the start and tired alter being rushed into contention. CAROLINE H., close up early, tired when urged. FULL SAIL was outrun. Scratched— 99324Mucia, 111. LO failed to improve her position under strong pressure. PLAYMORE was outrun. COMMANDANT had no mishaps. HIGH DELIGHT began slowly, but moved up steadily in a good performance. BERTJOHN, well ridden, met interference on the first turn, was allowed to remain out of it for half a mile, then moved up and was lucky to get through a narrow opening on the stretch turn and outgamed GRAMARYE in the drive. GRAMARYE, proroi- nent throughout, held on well under punishment. UNCOMMON GOLD had a rough race and appeared to sulk after meeting interference on the first turn. PRINCE DOO had early speed. TREK dropped far out of contention early and closed fast in the final stages. PORT O PLAY went well. EVELINE F had a roueh trip and the race should be disregarded. TRY KING quit.
