the Arlington Park Jockey Club will be brought to an end and the public may have revealed to them the colt or filly likely to develop into the twoyearold champion Thirteen speedy youngsters were entered this morning for the 25000 added race of six furlongs and if owners of all pay the starting fee of 1000 the event will have a gross value of 60820 making it the richest race run in America so far this season The Futurity field lacks a standout and with several twoyearolds that have qualified in brilliant fashion among the entries the race may de ¬ velop into one of the most keenly contested affairs of its kind ever seen on a Chicago track trackSt St Bernard owned by Elmer Dale Shaffer youthful Chicago sportsman and Albuquer ¬ que from Jack Howards Rookwood Farm Stable shared favoritism among veteran racing fans today but strong support was given both Nellie Flag and Today The former is also Chicagoowned being in Warren Wrights Calumet Farm Stable while the latter is the leading representative of the East which furnished the winner of the first Arlington Futurity in W R Coes Ladysman two years ago Par Star in Charles T Fishers Dixiana establishment was victorious last virtue of his Bashford Manor Stakes triumph in May but he will give only two pounds to those of his op ¬ ponents which have won excepting fillies The latter get an additional allowance of three pounds
