Although there was nothing of especial ap ¬ peal or attractiveness in todays next to final program of the Arlington Park Jockey Clubs annual thirtyday meeting which comes to a close with the running of one of the banner programs of the meeting to morrow the racing conducted under fine conditions was productive of much interest ¬ ing sport With a big majority of the win ¬ ners forced to the limit to achieve their goal the sport furnished many a thrill The F L B Stables Hoosiers Pride among the more confidently backed of the afternoons performers had to give his ut most under a strong and expertly gauged ride by Charles Corbett to finish in front of the five that opposed him pver seven furlongs in the fifth race This was ex ¬ clusively for threeyearolds and the vic ¬ torious Blondin gelding brought his testing impost of 118 pounds to the finish only threequarters of a length before Bay Servant Transcall which finished in third place was only half a length back of the runnerup Wild Reigh leading Irish Image and Copain finished fourth fourthA A saving of ground during the early racing during which Corbett had the F L B representative under restraint and within close range of the leading Bay Servant and Irish Image was a big factor in the score of the choice Entering the stretch Cor ¬ bett swung him to the outside of the leaders and he outgamed Black Servant as Irish Image fell back to finish next to last but within three lengths of the winner Closing in resolute fashion Transcall was moving fastest of the three leaders as the finish was reached reachedPRINCE PRINCE PEST IN FRONT FRONTDublin Dublin Taylor Oklahoma boy perched on the top rung in the list of American riders with respect to winning mounts since Jan ¬ uary 1 was the saddle star and brought home his third winner when he piloted the veteran Prince Pest to victory in the sixth race This also closed with the leaders closely bunched Glynson which accounted for secondary honors finishing within three quarters of a length of the winner The race engaging but six was decided over the mile course Black Nose beaten by two lengths for second was far in the van of the others othersAfter After getting away slowly with the win ¬ ner which is owned by Mrs J M Irwin Taylor kept him well out in the track as he steadily improved his position reaching the lead in the last sixteenth Glynson which was asked to set the pace held on in de ¬ termined fashion but was unequal to the task of withstanding the winners challenge Black Nose was close up throughout and early speed was exhibited by Panorama which tired badly in the stretch stretchSuperior Superior horsemanship of apprentice Dub ¬ lin Taylor played an important part in the victory of W E Hupps Bobbys Son win ¬ ner of the first race when he drove to the end a half length in advance of Max Hirschs Lovito while third went to Norman W Churchs Toro Flight the favorite favoriteAllowing Allowing Lovito to set the pace Taylor used excellent judgment and it was not until the field was rounding the turn that he sent his mount to the front but Arcaro sub ¬ jected Lovito to strong pressure and she regained the coveted position again a stren ¬ uous drive ensued when they straightened for the run to the stand and giving a game performance the winner gradually wore down Lovito and was ready to draw clear Toro Flight which raced in third place throughout raced rather sluggishly for half the distance but closed fast in the final stages and was rapidly wearing down the leaders leadersAgain Again Dublin Taylor gave a demonstra ¬ tion of Jimmy King in the saddle and a pronounced choice in the bet ¬ ting carried the popular colors of Thomas C Worden Chicago patron to victory over Hyman Annan and four others in the third race over one mile Tar Water which was expected to prove a strong contender was badly runningThe lamed during the running The winner had the benefit of the early pace made by Panic Blues and forced by Prince Doo and after taking command en ¬ tering the stretch came on to win by four lengths Hyman staggered to the finish a neck before Annan AnnanBlue Blue Day reliable son of Whiskaway which races for A G Tarn Canadian owner returned to his best form today when he conquered a band of useful type sprinters that tested their speed over threequarters It was the first start in nearly a month for the aged campaigner and the manner in which he raced indicated that he will make it interesting for any of his class from now on Carbon accounted for second place finishing one length and onehalf back and four in front of Pryor which raced into third place placeWell Well ridden by Eddie Arcarp the victor was reserved for half a mile before being called upon for improved speed but once under urging he mowed down the leaders with rapidity and drew away in the final stages Pryor and Luna Mica which were prominent during the early stages failed to meet theJ demands the latter giving way so badly that she
