I., June 21.— Racing at Narragansett Park tomorrow will be dis-I tinguished chiefly by the running of the Narragansett Handicap, a dash which has attracted sixteen overnight eligibles and seems certain to have a dozen starters. As was the case last year, when this stake was inaugurated, it will have an added value of ,000. The ranks of the leading New England sprinters have been aug-• mented during the recent days by the ar-er rival of several smart three-quarter horses from Long Island and it is one of this group, Sgt. Byrne, which will rule favorite in the week-end feature. The son of Stimulus, star of the diminu-n tive string maintained by John Simonetti of Jamaica, was third to King Saxon and Singing Wood last Saturday. Though he was well beaten by the two, he ran well enough. All tracks look alike to the son of Stimulus and whether the going is fast or muddy he still will rule favorite. Overnight indications point to firm foot-ing as the sun shone brightly through the I , day with a brisk breeze blowing and there no threat of rain in the skies. Sgt. Byrne is a mighty keen sprinter once more this season and it is improbable there e are half a dozen horses in the land that can handle him in a weight-for-age contest up to six furlongs. However, in tomorrows special he is being asked to carry top p weight of 123 pounds and the handicap ar-I rangement of Ben Holmes gives promise of f furnishing a rousing contest. The Stimulus s four-year-old has had scant luck in his stake e outings this season, but he won two over-ds night dashes at Belmont Park, when op-jry : posed by sharp sprinters.
