Start rood and slow. Won driving; third the same. YETIVE raced true and, a forward factor all the way, responded to severe pressure in the final seventy yards and finished with determination. HANDLE CROSS, kept forwardly from the start and on the outside, responded with good courage and finished gamely in the final strides. NADIR was close up on the inside from the start, bore slightly toward the. outside in the final sixteenth and, under hard urging, held on well. GLEAMING showed a good effort in the early running, but faltered at the end. MISAPPREHENSION had no excuses. DICKERY DOCK had no excuses in the running and could not menace the leaders. CHILCA showed an even effort. GEOLOGIST could not keep up. STRIDER had no mishaps. CONSISTENT was bumped by NADIR at the start and was knocked back. Scratched 329134 Risotto, 113. SUNPORT was outrun in the early stages, but improved his position steadily on the outside, responded lo severe pressure in the stretch and finished with a rush to wear down MARCABALA in the last strides. The latter, fractious at the post, broke two lengths back of his field on the outside of the stalls, moved into contention with a rush, disposed of ENTHUSIASM in the stretch and held on well to the end. UPSIDE DOWN handled his weight well, was blocked on the inside entering the stretch, took up and was steered to the outside of MARCABALA for the final eighth and finished well. ENTHUSIASM showed a flash of early speed while saving ground and had no mishaps. JAMBOREE faltered badly at the end under urging. THIRDRACE 5 1-2 FTJKLONGS Widener Course. JACKINTIIEBOX, a forward factor all the way and under severe pressure in the final eighth, outlasted SCENES IIIFTER in the last stride. The latter improved his position on the outside, made a determined Lid in the final eighth, but hung m the final drive. JUNGLE CHASE, under pressure through the final quarter, faltered at the finish. ACTION followed the pace closely under steady restraint, moved up fast when straightened out in the back stretch, was given a breathing spell going to the far turn, moved up when called upon on the stretch turn, but was bearing over on COUNT ARTHUR at the finish. COUNT ARTHUR was rushed into command after the break, showed speed under restraint, bore out rounding the stretch turn and held on gamely to the era1. ANN ORULEY improved her position steadily on the inside, saved much ground entering the stretch and moved up when called upon, but hung at the finish. F1RETHORN dwelt slightly at the start, improved his position steadily rounding the far turn, came wide rounding the stretch turn and finished well.
