DARIA, rank at the post, where she was placed on the outside, raced into command gradually, opened up an increased advantage when entering the stretch and, holding on well, withstood OUR PATTYS bid. The latter, away fast but sharply crowded back before reaching the turn, was taken to the outside after three-eighths, came stoutly under strong riding in the final quarter, but could not get up. ROYAL BIRD, taken across sharply from the outside in the first quarter, was under strong urging after three-eighths and tired in the last three-sixteenths. DIXIE D. showed a good effort from a sluggish beginning. SIR AJAX, also badly outrun early, finished with good belated speed. DOUBLE NUGGET, placed on the outside at the start, raced very wide and was held safe throughout. MONKS GOLD also started from outside the stalls. -BUSTANYBODY quit. . BABY WAY took command under hustling tactics, withstood the challenge of NEDSON while saving ground on the stretch turn, swerved out badly when drawing clear approaching the final eighth, but held IVORY TIP safe to win handily. The latter, saving much ground and a factor from the start, stood light pressure gamely the entire final quarter, but could not get to the winner. NEDSON had speed from the start, challenzcd under hand riding on the stretch turn, but failed to get up, then tired, but was best of the others. CHIPETA had no mishaps. BROOK TROUT closed well on the extreme outside. EGMONT raced wide under a timid ride and lacked speed. MOLL, quickest to begin and opening up a clear margin before reaching the turn where she was taken under snug restraint, responded to a mild shaking up in the stretch and came away fast in the last eighth. MISS RITZ, a factor from the start, saved ground much of the race and, holding on well, wore down OURAY. The latter, under vigorous riding after three-eighths, tired in the last eighth. GIBBYS CHOICE raced wide and could not get up. TERRIER tired after racing prominently to the stretch. UNCHANGING lost much ground. EXCHANGE CLUB, away fast but unable to keep up, was in close quarters on the far turn and eave way steadily when clear. SP1CKEEN tired after moving up. Photograph used to check finish. EXCLAIM, probably much the best but receiving a badly judged ride, was away slowly, raced on the inside early and, coming out alter being rushed to the leaders, was forced to lose additional grcind while wearing down ALICE G. as the latter bore out in the late stages. ALICE G. had speed from the start, was under strong restraint for a half mile, came out when shaking off BUSY MAE and again swerved when under strong pressure in the late stages, but barely failed to last. SHATTERPROOF, taken back repeatedly in the first three-eighths, was slow to resrond after reaching the final quarter, where she was under stronger riding, but came stoutly near the close. CltULIA had no mishaps and held on fairly well. BUSY MAE had speed, was carried out by ALICE G. entering the stretch and tired when clear. Photograph used to check finish. FRA DIAVOLO, away well but unable to keep up, remained far back until reaching the final quarter, where after coming to the extreme outside he closed with fine belaid speed and, wearing down BANDALORE, drew out fast in the closing stages. The latter, under strong restraint for a half mile, took command quickly on the stretch turn and, swerving when placed to pressure in the final eighth, failed to withstand the winners rush. YANTIS, well up from the start but shuffled about on the turn, moved up on the inside when clear in the stretch, but hung in the late stages. BALTIMORE BOY bettered his position fast on the stretch turn, but tired in the drive. DARK ZENI suffered slight interference on the turn. ITO was tiring when impeded on the turn. JUSTA SHEIK, receiving a confident ride and allowed to remain far out of it for a mile, began to move up slowly on the final turn, worked his way to the front in the stretch, then tired, but stalled off MOPECO. The latter, slow to begin and also a good distance .back for a mile, improved his position rapidly, failed to withstand the winner after getting to the front, but held on well and was the strongest ol the two at the end. THE BREAK, placed on the outside at the start, was under strong restraint for seven-eighths, rallied when shaken up on the final turn ?nd continued well to the last eighth before faltering badly. FAIR PROSPECT had no mishaps. REDNECK, much used in forcing and making the pace, tired badly in the final quarter. HARRY R1CHMAN was through after a mile. Photograph used to check finish. BLACKTHORN, rated under strong restraint until reaching the final three-eighths, raced around the leaders gradually, drew clear approaching the final eighth and withstood CRIMSONS bid. The latter began to improve his position after reaching the final half mile, came to the extreme outside in the stretch and, closing resolutely under strong handling, was wearing down the winner. ANKLETS, probably best and taken under restraint after failing to outrun GOLD TI, was forced back on the far turn, did not recover until reaching the stretch, then came gamely under strong riding. WESTERN RUN tired in the drive, pulled up lame and unseated his rider when he stumbled while jogging back after the race. GOLD TI quit after showing speed to the last three-eighths. HIGH MAN moved up fast when saving ground on the final turn, stood a drive gamely, but did not endanger the winner. TOBACCO raced wide the final half mile, tired badly in the final quarter, but outstayed CANTERON. The latter also tired in the stretch. SCOTLAND BEAUTY dropped out of it on the stretch turn. SHASTA BROOM was outrun. TREVALLION was through alter five-eighths.
