Less than twenty eligibles to the Futurity are expected to accept on Saturday, a survey of the possibilities indicated Wednesday, but at least sixteen starters will make the gross value of the 5,000 added race Futurity, at six and one-half furlongs straightaway, worth in excess of 0,000. With a majority of the probable starters having completed their training today or due for final important preparation Thursday, J. H. Louchheims Pom-poon continues to rule a favorite, his odds in the future book made by Frank Shannon having suffered a reduction since the preceding day. He is now 8 to 5. Joseph E. Wideners Optic, victorious in his three starts during the meeting, re- t mains the second choice at 3 to 1, with E. R. Bradleys Billionaire, which came out of his final trial this morning in excellent condition, still quoted at 4 to 1 as the third favorite. Considerable support was given Calumet Farms Privileged and Marshall Fields Charing Cross, for their odds were "asked down" as each was cut to 8 to 1 from 15 to 1. STOUT AVAILABLE. George Odom, trainer of the Field stable, also is expected to saddle Sir Damion, as that colt went through a six furlongs workout in satisfactory fashion, being timed the distance in 1:14. No rider has been selected for this colt, but if he is a starter Jimmy Stout will be available. Eddie Yager will guide Charing Cross. H. J. Thompson has received word from Rockingham Park that Danny Brammer probably will be here Saturday to handle Billionaire, while Harry Richards and Wayne" Wright remain as the jockeys on Pompoon and Optic. The other possible entries in the starting field are the Greentree Stables pair of Ell Yale and Tattered. Milky Way Farms Dog-away and Reaping Reward, and the Belair and Wheatley Stable team of Riparian and Melodist Reaping Reward and Melodist are listed as doubtful starters, as are Hal Price Headleys Apogee and William Ziegler, Jr.s Zostera.
