Phil Bieber deposited ,000 to claim the Shaw filly only to see her break down badly in the running of the race. Wednesday morning Mr. Shaw purchased her for a sum reported to be 00. Mr. Shaw plans to send Pocket to the court of one of the leading sires next spring. Walter Andrews purchased privately the Ihree-year-old Diantha from G. W. Sheldon. A carload of thoroughbreds arrived at Rockingham Park Wednesday morning from Maryland. The shipment embraced six head, the property of J. Hill, A. Hullcoat. three, J. Y. Christmas, three, R. L. Uttcrback and 11. G. Vaughn with two each. C. G. Allen, L. Paradise, J. Reatle, A. Warner, G. W, McKinlcy, and J. Webb have been granted trainers licenses.
