FLEETING MOON moved into a short lead soon after the start, stalled off keen contention from GUY FAWKES in the first five-eighths, drew clear under pressure entering the stretch and had enough in reserve to withstand SAVAGE. SAVAGE, permitted to fall back in the first three-eighths, responded to stronf urging and punishment in the last five-sixteenths and finished stoutly. TRIPLE ACTION, away very slowly and taken wide early, finished determinedly along the inside in the closing stages. GUY FAWKES forced a steady pace for five-eighths, then tired. MARINELLA raced well placed, but failed to rally when shaken up. DUNNAMANY could not threaten. The others were outrun. Scratched 33860 Trostar, 110; 33944 Rough Time, 113; 24121 Flying True, 113. GREY STREAK, in the thick of contention early, took command midway of the turn, came out into the better footing when reaching the stretch and outstayed FLAVOR under severe urging. FLAVOR raced forward! under strong urging and continued with good courage in the final drive. ACAUTAW improved his position steadily and came with excellent courage on the outside. MASKED GAL worked her way up gradually and finished gamely after losing a lot of ground in the late stages. CLEAN SPORT finished with good speed on the inside. TEDDY HASLAM. in trouble early, came willingly when clear. SOME GOOD showed speed for five-eighths. HIGH TORQUE was never a factor. QUE GATO quit. Corrected weight Teddy Haslam, 110. ALADDINS DREAM, slow to settle into his stride, began bettering his position after goinc five-eighths, circled his field in the late stages and, closing with a belated rush, was up in the last strides. SOUTH GALLANT was sent around his field with a rush to take command entering the back stretch, opened up a long lead when straightened into the stretch, but tired suddenly in the last eighth and could not withstand the winner. XANDRA moved up readily when placed to a drive and came gamely in the closing drive. KIEVSON raced well placed and held on well. KNIGHTS FANCY raced stoutly for the first seven-eighths, then tired. SANG FROID began tiring after three-quarters. PURPLE KNIGHT raced disgracefully after appearing sore on parade. Scratched 33863Light Brook, 117; 34043 Chambersburger, 107.
