Granville Will Be Sent to Farm tor Rest of Season NEW YORK, N. Y., Sept 30. Granville will not race again this year. That was trainer James Fitzsimmons answer to queries as to Granville, the Belair Stud three-year-old. "The colt missed his work this morning and will not start Saturday." "He will," he continued, "be shipped to the Belair Stud Farm in Maryland for the winter and picked up some time in January or February and trained for spring and summer racing. Furthermore, ho will not be blistered or fired. In fact, if the race was one week later Granville would be in condition to start The leg was in good condition this morning, but owner Woodward agreed with me that it would be taking too much of a chance to ask him to run two miles for the Gold Cup." Granville had a suspicious looking ankle all summer and it was believed that in the Realization he overreached and clipped himself on his left fore ankle. He cooled out nicely after the race, but in a close examination the new injury was revealed. The colt will be kept at Aqueduct until the close of the season and then shipped to the farm.
