KUVITO MONTREAL REPEATER Follows Up Mondays Success by Taking Mount Royals Wednesday Feature Collins Saddle Star. MONTREAL, Que., Sept 30. A program recruited entirely from the claiming ranks made up the fourth days racing at the Mount Royal course. The fifth event, named in honor of the town of Mount Royal, served as a feature and brought seven distance platers to contest at a mile and one-sixteenth. Kuvito, racing for L. A. Burtschell and ridden by apprentice F. Collins, repeated his good effort of Monday and drove to the finish a half length before H. Johnstons Miss Donovan to score his second victory of the meeting. D. Thompsons Investor was in third place, four lengths back and a length and one-half before C. Pughs Line of Fire. Apprentice Collins, who led the riders at the Blue Bonnets meeting, in driving Kuvito to win, completed a double for the afternoon, having previously ridden Fancy Clothes to victory in the opening event Kuvito was sent up on the outside in the first three furlongs and took command as the half-mile post was reached, drew into a clear lead rounding the stretch turn, but was hard pressed all through the final sixteenth to stall off the closing rush of Miss Donovan. The latter raced forwardly placed from the start came gamely through the final quarter and moved up fast in the last sixteenth, but hung in the final strides. Investor came from far back to outfinish the others for the minor portion of the purse. The best crowd of the week was in attendance for the sport which was raced over a slow track.
