STATUS OF LAW FAVORING FAVORINGI I FAIRMOUNT PARK TRACK SPRINGFIELD 111 May 4 Governor Henry Horner in all probability will permit the Lager race track bill to become a law without his signature it was stated here to ilSy following a conference on the measure yesterday 7 The bill cuts the daily license fee of the Fairmount track near Collinsville from JliOOO to 500 daily and increases the tracks take from 8 to 9 per cent The Governor conferred yesterday with Representative A BLager Democrat Representative Carlyle sponsor of the bill and Senator James O Monroe Democrat Collinsville who piloted it through the Senate SenateThe The Governors reported decision is said to be based on the contention that without this legislation Fairmount track cannot op ¬ erate this season On the other hand the executive it was said does not feel he should sign the bill as it may set a precedent and pave the way for requests by other tracks fora similar reduction in theirf ees
