i HORSEMENS RELIEF SOCIETY i FORMS PLAN OF ACTION DETROIT Mich May 28 A meeting of the Horsemens Relief Association which was organized last year for the purpose of taking care of injured riders and sick and injured employees of the racing establish ¬ ments stabled on the grounds of the Detroit Racing Association was held yesterday A definite plan of action for the activities of the association was determined on Present at the meeting were Charles T Fisher Mrs Fred T Murphy Louis J Lepper Joseph D Frost and Clarence E Lehr LehrDue Due to the fact that jockeys and stable hands might not have the same number of dependents or responsibilities on them it was decided that the trustees would pass on each individual case separately so that they could determine the amount of relief they thought would be commensurate in each particular case that might come before them themCHECK CHECK ON STABLE HANDS HANDSNorman Norman Miller track superintendent and Carter Curtiss superintendent of the grounds were instructed to keep a close watch on the stables and see that none of the employes there needed medical or other aid Arrangements have also been made with the Highland Park Hospital to take care of the sick and injured and an ambu ¬ lance will be kept on the grounds so as to be available in any contingency that might arise ariseWith With the receipts of Fridays races which will be turned over to the relief association the trustees will have in their hands a fund substantial enough to meet all of the r quirements of the racing season Charles T Fisher has donated an office for the use be employed to take care of its activities
