AGAWAM PARK IN OPERATION Third Annual Meeting at Massachu ¬ setts Plant Gets Under Way With Enthusiasm Running High AGAWAM Mass May 28 AgaWam Park the spacious plant on the outskirts of Spring ¬ field Mass swings open its gates tomor ¬ row for a summer meeting of thirtysix days Always popular with patrons and horsemen alike there is every indication that this meeting which is the third annual one will prove the most successful one to date The general uptrend of racing everywhere is cer ¬ tain to be reflected here and in addition local interest is running particularly high The plant which is new fresh and clean is i in readiness for capacity attendance A card of eight races daily is planned with the conditions so arranged that all classes of horses are being catered to That there will be no dearth of horses is evidenced by the opening day card in which all of the races in the original program filled nicely and many were over subscribed This is in direct contrast to conditions that prevailed in the previous years and is an important contributing cause to the existing enthusi ¬ asm that is seen on all sides Other diffi ¬ culties that formerly existed have been Cleared away and the spick and span plant in the Berkshire Hills is taking its deserved place in the regular national racing calendar
