REPEALISTS CLAIM VICTORY AntiRacing Bloc in Texas Confident ConfidentSport Sport Will Be Killed by Friday Fridayor or Saturday AUSTIN Texas June 2 Repealists are claiming today that they have their battle won and that by Friday or Saturday racing in Texas will be legislated out of existence existenceSpecial Special session legislation in that direction has moved much more rapidly than was ex ¬ pected by either side and so far everything has gone in favor of repeal The house passed the Bradbury bill by a larger majority this time than in the regular session This does not necessarily mean an increase of senti ¬ ment against racing but simply that some representatives knew opposition to repeal was weak in the house and they wanted to be on the winning side The disposition among the nonpartisans in the house has been to pass the buck to the senate senateTwo Two senate votes are said to be uncertain and they may be the deciding ones if out ¬ right and immediate repeal is the final issue but there still is a strong possibility of an amendment being adopted which will post ¬ pone action until 1938 or 1939 The house turned down two such amendments
