RAIN AT RIVERSIDE PARK Severe Storm Makes1 Footing Diffi ¬ cult at Kansas City Course Manners Queen Graduates KANSAS CITY Mo June 2 Wednes ¬ days racing at Riverside Park was con ¬ ducted over a course that was virtually a quagmire from the severe rains that visited the course during the morning As a result the fields in the later races were riddled with scratches Despite the inclemency of the weather a surprisingly large crowd was on hand when the horses paraded to the post for the initial race raceMaiden Maiden threeyearolds opened the mid ¬ week offering at Riverside and nine of that age went postward to compete for the purse at five and onehalf furlongs Manners Queen from the stable of J E Irvine was the one to graduate from the nonwinners ranks when she came from behind the pace in the final furlong to win going away by one and onequarter lengths from Miss Z Grays Star Bonny Mrs J W Johnsons Als Son coming from far back took the minor portion of the purse from the favored Adulation which quit badly in the final furlong after leading by a big margin for the first half mile
