IMPROVEMENTS AT AQUEDUCT Everything Completed for Opening Openingof of Popular New York Track TrackNext Next Monday NEW YORK N Y June 5 John E Cowdin president of the Queens County Jockey Club today annonuced the comple ¬ tion of the pretentious improvement pro ¬ gram undertaken early this spring to mod ¬ ernize and make Aqueduct one of New Yorks most popular courses When the Long Island track opens next Monday for its summer meeting of twentyone days racing patrons will find many pleasing innovations In planning the renovation of Aqueduct president Cowdin carefully considered the comfort and convenience of the public publicI I am sure said Mr Cowdin that those who attend Aqueduct during our forthcom ¬ ing meeting will be pleasantly surprised for the changes we have made not only will en ¬ hance the beauty of Aqueduct but benefit public and horsemen alike alikeThe The condition book issued by racing sec ¬ retary Jack Campbell provides for a splen ¬ did program of daily racing while an elab ¬ orate set of stakes will attract Americas best horses to the post The 20000 added Brooklyn Handicap heads the list for three yearolds and upward The 7 500 added Carter and 54000 added Queens County Handicap are other important features in this division divisionIn In the matter of Aqueduct changes and beautification the most important is that of the clubhouse addition The main floor will house the bookmaking department while the front portion will seat several rows of patrons The new section will relieve the former clubhouse congestion Underneath the club ring are new offices for the Geddes Gate Department and Pinkerton Agency The grounds of the clubhouse proper con ¬ tain rows of terraced seats
