BLITZEN YACHT WINNER WINNERHONOLULU HONOLULU Hawaii July 19 Blitzen fiftyfivefoot cutter owned by tobacco heir R J Reynolds of New York early today crossed the finish line of the twentysix yacht San FranciscotoHonolulu sailing re ¬ gatta to capture the Overall prize Although the Blitzen was actually the second craft to pass Diamond Head it rated top prize be ¬ cause of a threeday time handicap com ¬ puted on the basis of its comparatively small sail spread First to pass the finish line was Dick Loynes 106foot yawl Con ¬ tender from Long Beach The Contender came in last night fifteen days after leaving the California Worlds Fair Two hours and fiftyeight minutes after the Contender blew in the Blitzen finished its big run followed only fiftyone seconds later by Ed Pauleys eightyfivefoot schooner Fandango from Los Ajigeles
