FEAR JAPANESE BLOCKADE LONDON England July 25 An eventual Japanese blockade of Hong Kong was feared in British circles today as a result of a Jap ¬ anese threat to close the Pearl River at Can ¬ ton According to a dispatch to the London Daily Telegraph as yet not officially con ¬ firmed Japanese naval authorities at Hong Kong warned that the river would be closed Thursday From that time onward the dis ¬ patch said all vessels including warships will be forbidden to use the waterway In ¬ formation received in Chinese quarters in London stated that the Japanese had insti ¬ tuted a partial blockade of the British and French concessions at Shameen forecasting similar action at Hong Kong in the near future
