TONY PELLETERI REINSTATED Part Owner and Trainer of Millsdale MillsdaleStable Stable Also Groom Pat McCarthy McCarthyRestored Restored to Good Standing NEW YORK N Y July 25 Anthony Tony Pelleteri part owner ojt the Millsdale Stable and trainer of horses running under that establishments name as well as in the name of Mrs Pelleteri was restored to good standing by the New York Racing Commis ¬ sion The reinstatement is effective as of Wednesday WednesdayPelleteri Pelleteri now at Arlington Park Chicago was suspended indefinitely on June 20 as an outgrowth of stimulation of the horse Sun Plume which he trained A urinalysis made by the commissions laboratory after Sun Plumes winning race at Belmont Park on June 5 showed the threeyearold colt had been drugged with morphine a narcotic narcoticAn An intensive investigation of the case was conducted by the commission under the di ¬ rection of Marshall Cassidy steward repre ¬ senting the state for approximately fifteen days before Pelleteri and his groom Pat McCarthy were suspended It was made plain at the time of the suspension that neither man was being punished for partici ¬ pation in the tampering that the suspen ¬ sions had to do only with the trainers re ¬ sponsibility for the condition of his horses at all times At no time have officials indi I cated the slightest belief that Pelleteri and McCarthy had anything to do with drugging I the horse horseThe The commission met today at Empire City and at the same time it lifted the suspen ¬ sion on Pelleteri it restored McCarthy to good standing The action is an outgrowth of disclosure through purported confessions of a tampering ring This case is now in the hands of the district attorney of Nassau County and has been marked by the arrest of one of the alleged principals and the taking into protective custody of two young men one an apprentice rider and the other an exercise boy
