BIG SNEEZE, driving up on the inside of BEAR CAT to take a short lead, moved clear rounding the turn, saved some ground and drew out in the stretch. BEAR CAT broke fast and clear, raced close to the winner for three-eighths and began tiring. SUG, saving ground all the way, could not get to the leaders, but was best of the others. WINNING TIME broke forwardly, but did not appear to favor the footing. COCKSURE slipped repeatedly and failed to threaten. OAKWELL was outrun. MEADOW SUN and TIME GOLD were away poorly. MARANDAN, taking a short lead after the start, saved ground while meeting stout opposition from HAPPY HOSTESS, was shaken up nearing the stretch, then drew out as if much the best. BLUE MELODY, prominent from the start, came gamely in the drive, but could not menace the winner. HAPPY HOSTESS, abreast of the winner to the stretch turn, tired fast in the drive. DIVIDEND broke tardily, but could not threaten after getting into stride. JUNE DATE was outrun and finished very wide. OHIO LADY failed to hold on. SMART LAD, improving his position -steadily when steered to the outside of the leaders, entered contention on the stretch turn, then, finishing strongly, overhauled the leaders in the last sixteenth and drew away under urging. OF COURSE displaced PANDORAMINT when ready and drew clear, but gave way badly in the drive. PANDORAMINT relinquished the lead early, then tired gradually. BARDY broke slowly, went very wide on the first turn and could not reach contention. RUNNING BLUE failed to improve his position. PHAIR YDLER was prominent early. CHANCER was never a threat. SEA MISS sprawled in the footing when reaching a forward position in the stretch and lost her rider. MINSTREL WIT, under steady pressure early, moved up to the leaders swiftly turning out of the back stretch and overhauled MANNY B. midway of the stretch, then came away willingly. MANNY B. opened up a wide lead and stalled off mild opposition from RANDLES QUEEN, but could not stave off the winner. RANDLES QUEEN followed closest tov the winner for five-eighths, then held on gamely under punishment. STRUMMING gained slowly. CLAY HILL, on the outside of the leaders, drifted to the inside near the final turn, was taken out again and could not threaten. LYDE was always outrun. DUPLIKET had no excuses. The latjter dwelt slightly at the break and trailed for a half mile, then swung to the outside and finished strongly. CHIPSHOT passed tiring horses. YANKEE LAD, rated back of the pacemaker for three-quarters, fell back leaving the back stretch when shaken up, continued gamely under punishment and outfinished badly tiring horses in the drive. TAR MISS, saved off the pace for three-quarters, drove up bn the inside to approach the pacemaker, finished in the deep footing and tired steadily. JEAN C. opened up a good lead and saved ground whenever possible, but quit badly in the last quarter. GAY SIR was well back of the leaders, throughout. BEGRUDGED had little speed in the footing. The latter wore down BAR SHIP when ready, opened up a clear lead, but gave way when caught. PORTET was placed to strong pressure in the last five-eighths, but hung badly under a drive. STAND ALONE, permitted to drop far out of contention, raced on his own courage throughout. BAR SHIP was unable to stay when challenged. SIR TIME had no mishaps. ARA-ORNIS quit.
